VitalSmarts Training Recognized by Chief Learning Officer and Training Magazine for Ability to Drive Business Impact and Quality of Training Content

Provo, Utah – October 10, 2016 –VitalSmarts training programs have earned recognition by two prominent training and leadership development publications for their ability to help clients drive business impact and for the quality of their content.

Chief Learning Officer awarded Gold Fields, a client of VitalSmarts, the top award in the Business Impact Division in the 2016 Learning in Practice Awards. The Learning in Practice Awards recognize industry leaders who have demonstrated excellence in the design and delivery of workforce learning and development programs.

Gold Fields received the Gold award for using Influencer Training from VitalSmarts to revamp its safety culture and reduce serious injuries among its mining workforce. Using Influencer, Gold Fields achieved a 44 percent reduction in total recordable injury frequency rate (TRIFR) in some sites and a 20 percent reduction in TRIFR across the region equating to 25 lives saved from serious injury.

“The Learning in Practice Awards are a benchmark for enterprise learning and development,” said Mike Prokopeak, vice president and editor in chief at Human Capital Media. “This year’s group of winners is no exception…they are all leading examples of the powerful personal and organizational impact that learning creates.”

In addition, VitalSmarts’ Crucial Accountability course was recognized by Training Magazine for helping participants change behavior. One video from the course called “The Janitor Story” was voted the No. 1 Top Training Video in Training Magazine’s 2016 Top Training Videos (Ttv) awards program.

Judges remarked that “The Janitor Story” teaches training participants “how to identify problems and bring about behavioral changes in a group or team, without raising conflicts. The video is well directed and scripted. A great way to show the message. Retain-ability ensured!”

“We are honored to be recognized by both Chief Learning Officer and Training Magazine for the quality of our training courses,” said VitalSmarts CEO Andy Shimberg. “Our mission is to create high-quality training that leads to behavior change, and it’s exciting to see our work making a difference.”
