Q: Can I enroll participants who do not have an email address?
A: No. Participants must have a valid email address in order to register for Mastery Mission.
...............................................................................................................................................................................
Q: I sent the email invitations, but they are not arriving.
A: If you have correctly sent the email invitations, the time you sent them will appear in the MM invitation Sent column on the Roster Tab in the Class Manager. Several factors may impede the invitation email from arriving:
1. Be sure you have correctly typed participants’ email addresses in the Class Manager. You cannot edit an incorrect email address, so remove the participant from the Class Roster and add them again, with the correct email address.
2. Some networks have strict firewalls and SPAM filters that may block the email invitations. Ask participants to check their junk mail folders and talk to your IT department to verify that the email invitations are not being blocked.
3. Please send yourself an email invitation to verify that the emails are deliverable on your network.
4. If they are still not arriving, please contact the VitalSmarts.com technical support team.

Q: How do I enroll participants in Mastery Mission?

Q: How do I enroll participants who completed Crucial Conversations Training before August 15, 2006?
A: These classes may not know what the Mastery Mission is. You may want to plan an event for your organization to motivate and introduce them to the program. After you have had your event, follow the same procedure as you would for a recent class. However, you do not need to input the exact start and end date of each class. Simply pick a date before August 15, 2006. If you taught several classes before this date, you may enter the participants from multiple classes under a single class, according to the following guidelines:
1. Verify each individual did receive a Participant Toolkit at the time they went through the Training.
2. Identify a generic course location, like your company headquarters or regional training facilities.
3. Limit class rosters to 50 participants. The system is not designed to accommodate larger classes. (Note: If you combine classes upon enrollment, you will not be able to separate them when viewing Mastery Mission Statistics.)
4. Do not combine rosters of classes completed after August 15, 2006. These classes and all future classes must be enrolled separately in the Mastery Mission.

Q: Can administrative assistants and training administrators enroll participants in Mastery Mission?
A: To enroll participants in Mastery Mission, you must have access to the Trainer Zone at VitalSmarts.com. Non trainers may gain access to the Trainer Zone in 2 ways:
1. A Certified Trainer may allow an administrative assistant to use his/her Trainer account.
2. Under special circumstances, organizations may request a non trainer be given a Training Administrator Account. These accounts are reserved for organizations with either no Certified Trainer on staff, or multiple Certified Trainers on staff. If an organization has only one Certified Trainer on staff, that Trainer’s account should be used to enroll others in Mastery Mission.
To request a Training Administrator Account, simply log out of VitalSmarts.com, and then click the Trainer Zone link, under My Resources, in the VitalSmarts.com menu bar.
Administrative Assistants will be granted access to the Trainer Zone for the sole purpose of enrolling participants in Mastery Mission and tracking their progress. Administrative assistants will be under the same contractual obligations as Certified Trainers with respect to Mastery Mission and will not be authorized to share or distribute videos, information, and documents accessed through the Trainer Zone. Certified Trainers and their sponsoring organizations will be responsible if an administrative assistant violates the VitalSmarts Certified Trainer Agreement, vitalsmarts.com End User License Agreement, or United States copyright and trade laws.
(Note: Invitation emails are sent from masterymission@vitalsmarts.com, not from the email address of the Certified Trainer or Training Administrator.)

Q: Can I substitute the Mastery Mission for Crucial Conversations Training?
A: No. Crucial Conversations Training and the Mastery Mission are two separate parts of one complete training process. It is a violation of license agreements and copyright law to participate in the Mastery Mission without first completing Crucial Conversations Training and receiving a Participant Toolkit. Certified Trainers who enroll unqualified participants in the Mastery Mission will be stripped of their VitalSmarts Trainer Certification status and title. In addition, they may make their sponsoring organization financially responsible for purchasing complete Crucial Conversations Participant Suites for all illegal Mastery Mission participants as well as face prosecution according to United States copyright and trade laws.
...............................................................................................................................................................................
Q: If I purchase a Crucial Conversations Participant Suite, can I give the Participant Toolkit to one individual and the Mastery Mission License to another?
A: No. Please see above question and answer.
...............................................................................................................................................................................
Q: What emails will participants receive as part of the Mastery Mission?
A: They will receive the following emails:
• An invitation email with instructions on how to enter Mastery Mission
• A follow-up reminder if they have not enrolled within the first week
• If applicable, an email with a Continuing Education certificate
• Once in the Mastery Mission, they will receive an email after completing each level
• If they are inactive for more than two weeks, they will receive an email reminding them to return to the Mastery Mission
(Note: Invitation emails are sent from masterymission@vitalsmarts.com, not from the email address of the Certified Trainer or Training Administrator.)

Q: How do I introduce my class to the Mastery Mission during training?
A: If you are training using 3rd Edition Materials, an introduction to Mastery Mission is included as part of “Lesson 10: Move to Action.” If you are training using v2.0 Materials, you may want to download the Mastery Mission Introduction Card. You can also access the internet in the classroom and play the Mastery Mission introduction.

Q: How do I introduce former Crucial Conversations Graduates to the Mastery Mission?
A: Everyone you enroll in Mastery Mission will receive an invitation email with a link to a short introductory video. However, if it has been several weeks or longer since an graduates have completed the training they may not expect this email invitation or know what it is referring to. To motivate and introduce them to the Mastery Mission, you may want to plan an event for your organization. A few examples include:
1. Holding a short kick-off meeting
2. Planning a conference call
3. Sending an email from their manager, or the training or HR department
4. Creating instructions to help team leaders introduce the Mastery Mission to their teams
5. Dividing into study groups who will work through the Mastery Mission at the same pace
6. Inviting participants back for a short training session, to refresh and introduce Mastery Mission

Q: How do I use the Class Manager to grant Continuing Education Credits to participants in my training class?
A: Trainers must receive industry specific certification in order to teach Crucial Conversations Training for Continuing Education Credits. Because of the strength of our Trainer Certification process, you may not be asked to do more than submit a simple on-line application. Additional certification requirements vary by industry. To see a list of industries for which you may become certified to teach for Continuing Education Credit, please see the Continuing Education link in the Trainer Zone (coming soon).
Once you become certified in a specific industry, participants in your classes will be able to request CE credit as part of the Mastery Mission registration process. They will be prompted to complete all of the required forms and an electronic copy of their Certificate of Completion will automatically be generated.

Q: Is Mastery Mission compatible with my organization’s LMS?
A: Mastery Mission is Web-based and works with most Windows-based computer systems. While you can access Mastery Mission from home or work, the built-in reporting and tracking tools cannot be automatically transferred into another LMS. With these tools, Trainers have the ability to track the general progress of their class, but not the progress of specific participants.
