Localization and Testing Specialist

VitalSmarts is seeking a Localization and Testing Specialist to report to the Director of Quality Assurance as part of the Production Services team.

One to three years of experience within a technology and testing role, AND/OR one to three years experience in a localization support role. A Bachelor’s degree and bi-lingual skills are desired, but not required.

Qualifications

The nature of this position requires the successful applicant to be HIGHLY detail oriented, technical (working to set-up and test propriety software across diverse platforms and hardware combinations), and to work well within a team of highly creative and quality-driven individuals.

Duties/Responsibilities

The duties and responsibilities of the Localization and Testing Specialist will include, but are not limited to:

  • Building and managing a network of trusted local translators who review localized content from international training licensees.
  • Providing International licensees the necessary print materials so they can be reviewed in iterative development stages.
  • Meeting contractual milestones regarding the timely turnaround of reviewed localized content for international licensees.
  • Communicating feedback to licensees and collecting their responses.
  • Presenting localization and testing recommendations to other team members and leadership.
  • Inputting licensees' trainer presentations into the VitalSmarts Instructional Platform (VIP), and providing content testing according to established quality and time metrics.
  • Providing video and subtitling files to licensees as needed.
  • Managing shared assets while working directly with licensees in order to meet their specific hardware / software requests (such as modified xml files, DV CAM / DVD’s, etc.)
  • Executing on-going quality assurance initiatives for localization deliverables.
  • Providing a global “lens” in all product development meetings.
  • Liaising with the international sales team to provide globalization input during the product development lifecycle.
  • Providing general pre-testing / component testing around new technology development and VIP enhancements.
  • Providing platform content packaging for VIP deliverables.
  • Assisting the production services team generally with ad hoc responsibilities that benefit from high attention to detail, repetitive (and sometimes even arduous) development tasks.
