Through investments and capacity-building consulting, Unitus empowers microfinance institutions to help economically disadvantaged people worldwide. In doing so, Unitus enables people to permanently raise themselves and their families out of poverty. VitalSmarts donates both time and money on an annual basis to Unitus. Over the past four years, VitalSmarts has made it possible for microfinance organizations to extend 25,000 loans, which have affected more than 125,000 people.

United Way of Utah County works with community partners to assess the needs of the community and apply get-in-there-and-make-a-difference leadership to solve problems. VitalSmarts donates time and intellectual property to train United Way faculty, volunteers, and their partner organizations in Crucial Conversations®, Crucial Confrontations™, and Influencer Training™. VitalSmarts also partners with United Way to host an annual Crucial Conversations Date Night and participate in the annual Sub for Santa program.
