Marketing Product Manager

VitalSmarts is seeking a Marketing Product Manager to join their Marketing Team. Qualified applicants will possess excellent organizational skills and the ability to work within a cross-functional team; they will also be detail-oriented self starters who have an enthusiasm for excellence in their work.

Education/Experience

Bachelor’s Degree required from a four-year college or university.
At least 5 years related experience in product management and/or marketing. Experience within the corporate training industry or B2B product marketing is a plus.

Summary

Must be able to conceptualize and execute on projects that support multiple product lines in order to optimize revenue and meet marketing, financial, and corporate growth objectives.

Duties/Responsibilities

The duties and responsibilities of the Marketing Product Manager include, but are not limited to:

  • Participates in overall product strategy, branding, research, packaging, and analysis for new and existing products.
  • Manages all aspects of product marketing campaigns from launch, through the lifecycle of the product, to end of life.
  • Develops and maps product messaging and campaigns to customer lifecycles, as well as to various markets.
  • Conducts competitor research and develops competitive briefs and collateral for Sales & Marketing.
  • Conducts market analysis to assist in developing product definitions, as well as tracks industry trends.
  • Collaborates with a wide variety of functional areas such as Sales, Marketing, Production Services, IP Team, and Operations to develop and provide product definitions that are responsive to customer needs and market opportunities.
  • Trains Sales team on product and marketing strategies.
  • Researches and proposes solutions to problems within existing product lines.
  • Provides both internal and external customer service for questions or problems regarding product.
  • Develops and maintains a prioritized list of customer and market requirements for product lines.
  • Develops and maintains ongoing campaigns that drive interest and engagement for existing products, including vertical marketing campaigns.
  • Prepares product marketing objectives and schedules for introducing new products to market.
  • Handles all inquiries regarding trade marking and suspected IP violations.
  • Participates in and recommends key points in sales training for each product line.
  • Gathers and analyzes technical, financial, and sales information for each product line. Evaluates the ROI of products and makes recommendations on which should be continued or discontinued.
  • Travels as necessary to fulfill job responsibilities.
